TESOL and the Fab Four

Uniondale recieved a grant to buy I-pods for the foreign language department. Being one to always try and incorporate technology into my lessons, I created a lesson based upon the I-pods. The lesson I created was about antonyms and was used with the third grade. Since the I-pods are internet ready, I sent them to this link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zPOT8Z3UlM

Low and behold, they were treated to the sounds of The Beatles "Hello/Goodbye."
I felt that this was the perfect song to introduce the children to antonyms. After viewing the video, they were to fill in a teacher-created lyrics sheet.

You say yes, I say no
You say stop and I say go, go, go
Oh, no
You say goodbye and I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello

I say high, you say low
You say why, and I say I don't know
Oh, no
You say goodbye and I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello

Why, why, why, why, why, why
Do you say good bye
Goodbye, bye, bye, bye, bye

Oh, no
You say goodbye and I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello
hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye I say hello
Hello

Feel free to use this lesson with any of your students. In the worksheet I made, I deleted some of the lyrics and had the students fill them in.
